Cosmic News December 2009
Shattering Paradigms and Architecting New Realities
I’ve been working on this newsletter for several months, since the last Mercury retrograde period, (and on December 9 Mercury enters the shadow of its next retrograde cycle) researching, processing and synthesizing the cosmic weather as it exists now and over the next several years. The result? I have so very much information that I’m eager to share with you—much more than I’m able to include in this newsletter. So, there is more to come because there’s a lot going on and maybe you’ve been feeling that. Many of us have felt like we are riding life’s roller coaster, up and down, careened this way and that way, rising slowly and then diving quickly into the abyss. What’s that all about? We are at the precipice of a change between worlds and that can certainly be a scary place to be. Where we are is at the border of the unprecedented and the unprecedented is unknown and frightening. As a collective we are crossing a threshold that will just as dramatically shift our experience of reality as surely and drastically as the Renaissance and the Industrial Revolution once shifted reality for our ancestors.
The “revolution” taking place now involves a revolution in consciousness that began centuries ago--nearly a hundred years ago, and one that has been slowly gaining momentum century by century, building in intensity with each passing year and reaching its culmination through 2012. That culmination is all about a new perspective—a new paradigm of reality—new beliefs about ourselves and the world we live in.
May I ask you to take a moment and consider something? Imagine that you are yet to be born into this world. Imagine that you do not know into which country, class, race or family you will be born. The only information that you are given about this world you are asked to inhabit is that there is a tiny elite that controls and consumes most of the world’s goods and resources and that the vast majority of people on the planet are poor, without access to those resources. Therefore, the chances are good you would be born into an impoverished minority.
Would you choose to be born into this world?
That’s a question we do well to ask ourselves now, whatever our personal circumstances. Would you choose to born into this world if that was the deal? I do believe that we know more about what we are signing up for then this example suggests, because if that were the deal, I certainly would say “no thanks” and I suspect many of you would too. But in asking myself that question, it became apparent to me that reality as it exists for so many on this planet, is experienced exactly that way and more are joining that impoverished minority year by year. It makes perfect sense to me that as a collective we are primed to put some new systems of reality into place—truly just systems.
Why would any of us continue to collectively support ridiculous realities that allow only a minority to have access to the magnificent abundance and possibilities available? How many of us continue to believe that any form of suffering is even necessary? How long does suffering need to be a feature of our reality before we say, “That’s a silly system. No thanks.” Many of the horrors that exist as a facet of our experienced reality do so because it is believed they are inherent to human reality. Why do we believe that? Because that’s the way it’s always been. There have always been wars. There have always been those who have more and those who have less. Yet, don’t you see that the reason it’s always been that way is because we just accepted it and believed it was just the way things are? What if we believed differently?
As Above, So Below
There is a connection between heaven and earth
Finding that connection makes everything meaningful
Missing it makes everything meaningless
The “wholeness” of this cosmic picture as it exists now, as my understanding of the symbolism has put the cosmic pieces of that multidimensional picture together, inspired the comprehension that it is belief that is the most critical factor impacting on the way things are going to unfold over the next few years and the ease with which we experience this revolution in human consciousness. What we’ve been learning and discovering this past century as a collective; what we’ve been waking up to and consciously remembering, is something that Marianne Williamson expresses in her book, Return to Love: Reflections on a Course in Miracles:
Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, “Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous?” Actually, who are you NOT to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.
Believing is Seeing
Wow, how might our experience of reality change if our belief about ourselves changes? We are not powerless victims, we are powerful creators! What kind of realities might we create if we all held life-affirming beliefs that are backed by the courage to put into practice what we believe? Believing is seeing. What we believes guides our perceptions and we "see" the evidence that supports our beliefs. Life will reflect back to us what we believe. It does so all the time. It’s been doing so throughout human history. Not all that long ago we believed the world was flat—and that was our collective experience until the inspired action of a believer proved that belief to be erroneous. That’s our work now—to identify the false beliefs, the disempowering beliefs that keep in place realities we don’t enjoy engaging or experiencing.
Einstein set forth in 1935 that human consciousness influences quantum energy—which is the stuff of life that everything is made of. However objective we intend to be in our observing of “happenings,” scientists now recognize that our beliefs influence our observations whether we are conscious of it or not. We are all participating in creating reality—both our personal reality and our collective realities. We are all participants but the majority of us are not participating consciously. We live in an interactive universe. And we change the world around us by changing our beliefs about what we are observing and responding conscientiously instead of reacting as if we were robots. Everything that we experience is directly linked to what we believe. The focus of our attention changes our experience of reality.
The “facts” of Newtonian physics, that the universe is composed of particles that can be both known and predicted at any moment in time, facts that we’ve assumed as truth for 300 years, have been proven to be incomplete. We now know that the universe and everything in it, including the planets and our bodies, are composed of both tangible and visible particles and invisible waves of energy or light. We are both matter and spirit—physical and nonphysical. We also know that particles can be both in one place and in many places simultaneously and that no matter how far apart a particle is physically, the particle still acts as if it is connected to itself. In other words, a particle is not limited by either time or space; it is only here and now.
Scientists have shown us that we are literally bathed in a field of intelligent energy that rearranges itself in the presence of our beliefs. As Gregg Braden describes it in his book The Spontaneous Healing of Belief, “The realities of our lives are created by ‘belief waves’ shaping the quantum stuff that everything is created from.” By the late 1990’s, scientific research documented that everything in the universe is made from a shared energy field and that human DNA influences this field in a manner that appears to defy the laws of time and space. Why hasn’t our experienced reality caught up with that truth? Because many of us have not yet consciously reprogrammed our beliefs in recognition of quantum realities.
What this means is that we are born with the ability to create and modify our bodies and every facet of our experienced reality. WOW! Let that sink in. Isn’t that something we can all get excited about? All that is necessary to experience this truth in life-affirming ways, and it is the critical work before us now both personally and collectively, is to consciously update our beliefs about reality. We’ve been taught and conditioned to believe that we are frail and powerless beings inhabiting a body that decays and dies and living at the mercy of a world where things happen for no apparent reason and are beyond our control. I say Bah, humbug! to that! And I hope that’s what you’ll say each and every time you feel powerless to effect the changes you desire to make in your own life.
No Doom and Gloom
The message of the cosmos at this time in human history is not one of doom and gloom—it certainly doesn’t have to be. I embrace it as an empowering message about belief in what we now know to be true about the nature of ourselves and our world. Our beliefs structure our experienced reality—it’s always been that way and it continues to be that way. Therefore, to recreate reality, we must merely change our beliefs about it. What appears to complicate this matter is that so many of our beliefs reside at the subconscious or unconscious level of our awareness. Making them conscious is our work now, to really pay attention to what beliefs motivate our behaviors and color our perceptions and motivates our doing and being in the world. Many of our less conscious beliefs are conditioned by what we were told by our families, our teachers, our religion, our culture and passed down over generations throughout centuries of time. We have to consciously reprogram what we have been taught about the world and our role in it and recognize that we are not limited or bound by these beliefs unless we continue to believe them.
Take a moment to reflect on your own experiences. Think about those things that you believe are good for you and those things that you believe are not so good for you, things you do each day and why you do them based on your beliefs. Are those beliefs aligned with the realities you desire to experience? Begin to notice more acutely how your beliefs are mirrored in your experiences. Reflect on your relationships and the beliefs you hold about the people in your lives and how you see those beliefs mirrored back to you in your experiences with those others. Think about what scientific research has demonstrated to us for quite some time now about placebo effects: when someone truly believes that they are being given the cure to what ails them, they are indeed cured, even if what they were really given was merely colored water. In effect, all that we believe to be right or wrong, positive or negative, good or bad, is experienced as we believe it to be. If we’ve made mistakes that we feel bad about and we chastise ourselves for those mistakes over and over again, believing ourselves bad or unworthy, then we continue to attract more experiences that confirm our belief.
It also happens that many of our less than conscious beliefs contradict our conscious beliefs resulting in contradictory experiences that make it a bit more challenging to see clearly how our beliefs are creating our experienced reality. Reprogramming our beliefs requires an act of willful consciousness and a commitment to be astutely aware or “mindful” of the beliefs that are guiding our perceptions and actions. It’s time to let go of all limiting beliefs and the only way to do that is to become aware of them. If you say, “I don’t believe in Western Medicine” but make doctor’s visits or have flu vaccinations, your behavior is contradicting your beliefs. The question I have asked myself so often this year is, why would any of us continue to hold any beliefs that are not life-vitalizing, life-affirming ones? What might reality look like if we no longer believed in lack, hardship, and learning the hard way?
Let’s all make a commitment to become more aware and to reflect on and examine our beliefs about all facets of our experience: work, money, age, health, relationships, etc. Let us consider the consequences of being bombarded with media messages and product advertisements that encourage us to view ourselves as stressed out and sick and living in a world where we aren’t safe. That’s how we become aware of our unconscious beliefs—we make a conscious decision to do so and to pay attention to how reality is mirroring back to us those insane beliefs.
Heart Centered Beliefs
Gregg Braden also talked about another scientific discovery that I felt was significant to our collective process now. He discussed research that has demonstrated that the human heart is at the core of the electrical and magnetic fields that communicate with the other organs of our body. Both feelings and beliefs are the labels or names that we give to our body’s ability to convert our experiences into electrical or magnetic waves. When either or both the electrical or magnetic fields of an atom change (atoms are the stuff our bodies and all matter is composed of), the atom changes and alters how it behaves and how it expresses itself as matter in form. Studies have shown that the electrical strength of the heart’s signal, when measured by an EKG is 60 times greater than the electrical signal of the human brain measured by an EEG. Additionally, the heart’s magnetic field is up to 500 times stronger than that of the brain. The message? The heart is far more powerful than our thoughts alone. Heart centered beliefs, those that we hold with strong feeling, exist as electrical and magnetic waves of energy which reach out well beyond our physical heart and body to speak to All that Is. In his words, Our heart is a belief to matter translator.
What a beautiful realization. Let us all perceive through our heart, the reality-bridging organ in our human body that connects the lower three chakras or energy centers that are grounded in the world of form to the upper three chakras rooted in the waves of eternal being ever becoming. This awareness impels me to open my arms to embrace all of us and whisper, “bless our hearts!” How innocent has been our forgetting and how long we’ve endured suffering when it has no longer been necessary. In our remembering, we see so clearly that it’s all about heart—all those precious moments of our lives that have brought forth the best of us—they all have one thing in common—heart. The meaningless lacks heart. The meaningful is overflowing with heart; full of love. Love’s the ingredient that makes all the difference. I for one believe in the power of love. I know you do too. And that’s a magnificent belief to have guiding our actions and being in the world as we consciously recreate our experienced reality. Whatever is before us, we need merely to ask, “How would love respond to this?”
Speaking of the heart, Mars recently entered the shadow of its retrograde cycle (on October 17) as it entered the sign that rules the heart: Leo. Mars will make its station retrograde on December 20th at 19 degrees of the sign Leo and then retrace its steps back to zero degrees of Leo, stationing direct on March 10th, 2010 while not emerging from its shadow until May 16 2010. As soon as a planet enters the degree of its direct station (as Mars did on October 17) the focus of its energy will begin to become apparent to you as it makes the first of its three connections to any planets or significant points in your birth chart. These past six weeks, Mars has been setting the stage, bringing to our attention the relevant themes in our personal lives. To support you in gaining insight into your own process, I’m offering a Mars retrograde report. This is a customized report that provides information about the house or houses Mars will be highlighting in your birth chart and the connections it will be making to the planets in your birth chart. Additionally, this report includes the transits of Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto that occur in your birth chart during Mars’ 7-month retrograde cycle. If you are interested, you can read more about and order the Mars retrograde report on my website.
